This year, we had the pleasure of attending Laracon US, and we’re excited about what the future holds for Laravel and our development processes.

The event was packed with insightful talks and impressive new features that we’re eager to implement.

Here are our key highlights from the Expo:

  • New Laravel Enhancements: We were thrilled to see the introduction of the new features for Laravel, like Eloquent Chaperone and the long-awaited defer helper. These enhancements are set to improve our workflow, and we’re particularly excited about the new Concurrency Facade. This feature will enable us to execute multiple callbacks simultaneously without overloading the request, optimizing our application's performance.

  • Inertia.js Update: The latest version of Inertia comes with a new prefetching feature, which we believe will significantly enhance the speed and responsiveness of our clients' dashboards. This is a game-changer for delivering the agility and immediacy that modern web applications require.

  • Laravel Cloud: The surprise reveal of Laravel Cloud was the highlight of the event. This new tool will streamline our deployment processes to staging environments, allowing us to deliver faster and more reliable updates.

In addition to these technical innovations, the presentations by the guest speakers were both enlightening and inspiring:

  • PEST Testing by Nuno Maduro: Nuno’s presentation on PEST testing was nothing short of incredible. We are excited to refine our testing processes with the powerful features that PEST offers.

  • Flux by Caleb Porzio: Caleb introduced us to his latest creation, Flux, and we can’t wait to start integrating it into our projects. Flux promises to simplify the creation of visual components, and we’re eager to explore its potential.

  • Jack McDade on Interface Design: Jack McDade’s talk about radical design was truly inspiring, challenging us to rethink and reinvent how we approach interface design. His insights have left us motivated to push the boundaries of our creativity.

One of the best parts of Laracon US was reconnecting with our colleagues and friends from the community. It was a pleasure to catch up with those we've been collaborating with on various projects, and nothing beats the experience of meeting face-to-face after working together remotely for so long. A special mention goes to Yaz Jallad from Ninja Parade Digital and Owen Conti from Springloaded.

It was wonderful to spend quality time with them and further strengthen our collaboration.

We are incredibly grateful to have shared this experience as a team and to be part of a community that continuously inspires us to improve our craft. Laracon US 2024 has reinforced our commitment to providing our clients with cutting-edge solutions and contributing to the growth of the Laravel ecosystem.

We look forward to being at Laracon 2025 and continuing to build together.
